High-entropy Alloy Powder (HEA) offers high strength, high hardness, corrosion resistance, excellent wear resistance, high temperature resistance, radiation resistance and soft magnetism.

Description

ABM’s high energy milling process offers high quality HEA powder with homogeneous results based on XRD analysis and exhibits high performance in applications.

High-entropy alloys (HEAs) have recently gained considerable attention within the scientific community as advanced materials, mainly due to their exceptional properties and desirable microstructural features. Unlike traditional material systems, high-entropy alloys are composed of multi-component elements (at least five elements) with equimolar or nearly equimolar concentrations. This allows for a stable microstructure that is associated with high configurational entropy. The next-generation HEAs can significantly benefit the aerospace, marine, oil and gas, nuclear sector, etc. under extreme environment.

At present, the grades of high-entropy alloy powders for mass production of additive manufacturing mainly include FeCoNiCrMn, FeCoNiCrMo, FeCoNiCrAl, FeCoNiCrTi, FeCoNiCr. Among them, the main elements in the five high-entropy alloy chemical compositions are composed of equiatomic ratios, and then converted into corresponding mass percentages; impurity elements mainly include oxygen, nitrogen gas elements, and impurities such as carbon, phosphorus, and sulfur. An appropriate and reasonable chemical composition range is set by investigating the chemical composition report of high-entropy alloy powder produced by relevant units and the actual application requirements
